Students

  • Amazon Prime for Students (19 to 24 also qualify): 6 months free, then $4.99 a month or $49 a year, compared with $9.99 or $99 for regular Prime. It switches to full Prime after you graduate or after 4 years.
  • Spotify Premium Student: $6.39 a month after a 1-month free trial, compared with $13.99 for regular Premium. You need to be at an accredited college or university and verify every 12 months. It isn't available in Quebec.
  • SPC card: $11.99 a year for discounts at 450+ brands. It's free (SPC+) if you have an eligible CIBC student account or student card.
  • Apple Education: for postsecondary students, staff, K-12 teachers and parents buying for a student. Yearly limits apply, like 1 Mac and 2 iPads. The 2026 back-to-school promo ended September 24.

  • New in 2026: the TTC dropped the adult, youth, senior and Fair Pass monthly passes on August 31. Now there's a fare cap instead: after 47 paid trips in a calendar month on the same card, the rest of the month is free.
  • Post-secondary: TTC pay-as-you-go is the adult fare, but there's a $128.15 monthly pass if you have a TTC Post-Secondary Photo ID. If you're 19 or under you can use the youth fare.
  • GO and UP Express: youth 13 to 19 and full-time post-secondary students get 40% off the adult single fare with PRESTO. College and university students need a new GO Student ID every year. Part-time students don't qualify.
  • One Fare: transferring between TTC and GO on single fares makes the TTC part free.

Seniors

Shoppers Drug Mart Seniors' Day gives 20% off almost all regular-priced items in store with your PC Optimum card. The schedule isn't consistent: one Shoppers page says every Thursday, but recent ones were dated single events. Check the flyer for the next one.
