Points only matter once you know what they're worth in dollars. These are the official redemption rates.
| Program | Redemption | Worth |
|---|---|---|
| PC Optimum | 10,000 points | $10 off |
| Scene+ | 1,000 points | $10 off groceries at Sobeys banners |
| AIR MILES Cash | 95 Cash Miles | $10 off (spend $10+ before tax) |
| Triangle (CT Money) | 1 CT Money | $1 |
| Tims Rewards | 400 points | A brewed coffee, tea or baked good |
| Starbucks Rewards CA | 100 Stars | Brewed coffee, tea or bakery item up to $6 |
The Scene+ myth
Scanning Scene+ at Sobeys doesn't earn base points on its own. Scene+ says base grocery earning needs a qualifying Scotiabank credit card. Without one, you only earn on the targeted offers loaded to your account. Load those before you shop.
Easy stacks
- PC Optimum at Esso: 10 points per litre on fuel and 10 per $1 inside the store. Link your PC id in the Esso app and pay there for another 10 per litre. Then 4,000 points gets you 10 cents off a litre, up to 40 L. You can't redeem at Mobil.
- Shoppers Drug Mart: 15 PC Optimum points per $1 on most items, and the big multiplier events go well past that. Save redemptions for those.
- Tims: 10 points per $1. 400 points (about $40 spent) is a coffee. I work that out to a 4 to 5% return depending on what your coffee costs. That's my math, not Tim's. You get one reward per transaction.
- Starbucks Canada: link Aeroplan to earn Aeroplan points too, and new links that buy within 7 days get 500 bonus Aeroplan points. Link an eligible TD card for more Stars on app orders, plus a one-time 200 Stars if you buy within 7 days.
- Canadian Tire: CT Money works across Canadian Tire, Sport Chek, Mark's, Party City and Atmosphere. It doesn't work on tires, wheels or shipping. Money you earn on a purchase can't go toward that same purchase.
