TTC fare capping: ride free after 47 paid trips a month
Since Sept. 1, 2026, TTC riders who pay with PRESTO or a tapped debit or credit card ride free for the rest of the calendar month once they reach 47 paid trips. You never pay more than an old monthly pass would have cost.

How to get it
- Pay with the same PRESTO card, PRESTO mobile wallet or bank card all month
- Keep tapping on every trip, even after you hit the cap
- The count resets on the 1st of each month
The catchSwitching cards or devices splits your count. Cash and PRESTO Tickets don't count. Free transfers within two hours don't count as paid trips. Post-secondary passes are not part of the cap.
